The IMAG History & Science Center Announces a
Temporary Close in Response to
Concerns Regarding the Coronavirus

[Fort Myers, FL – March 16, 2020]   Based on the most current information from public health officials and in support of community efforts to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the IMAG History & Science Center will temporarily close to the public beginning March 16, 2020. We are suspending all on-site camps, meetings, events, and programs until further notice.  This includes postponing our signature fundraising event, An Evening in Old Havana.  We thank our event sponsors for their continued and ongoing support as we work to reschedule this exciting event.

There have been no known incidents of COVID-19 at the IMAG and this action is to support local efforts and CDC recommendations.

As leaders in STEM and local history education and in order to continue our mission and provide educational programing, we are introducing IMAG @ Home, daily doses of science and history in a new digital way.  Beginning Tuesday March 17th, please visit to view daily program schedules.  Educational programing will be available for all ages and will include live interactive demos, do-at-home activities, pre-recorded shows, live animal encounters, and much more.

Please check back regularly as we update our response to this unprecedented situation.  As a non-profit organization, IMAG relies on the support and generosity of our members and community.  Please consider supporting our effort to provide educational opportunities to our community in new ways.  Membership and donation information can be found at  Generosity is also contagious!!

“The Board of Directors and IMAG staff join me in sharing our ongoing support to our SWFL community during this difficult time,” Matt Johnson, Executive Director said.  “We thank you for your understanding and continued support and look forward to seeing you soon at the IMAG.”
