Members' Nights

Explore the IMAG after dark! Monthly Members’ Nights invite you into the museum after hours to enjoy the museum with a little extra: special themed science activities, meet-and-greets with our Animal Ambassadors, and light refreshments.  It’s just one of many ways we appreciate our members. These events run from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

*Due to the nature of our prepared activities, registration is required to attend Members’ Night. Registration is always free.

**These events start promptly at 6:00 PM. In order to give staff time to set up activities & refreshments, guests will not be able to enter early. Thank you for understanding!

VIP Sneak Peek of King Tut: Friday, November 11, 2022. Get a sneak peek at the new King Tut exhibit at our VIP Member’s Preview and try out some hands-on Ancient Egyptian STEAM activities! Use your STEAM skills to solve puzzles, decipher codes, conquer engineering challenges and more as you learn about ancient Egypt and King Tutankhamun. Light Refreshments will be served.

Hocus Pocus Party: Friday, October 21, 2022. The Sanderson Sisters are flying into the IMAG for Members’ Night! All three Sanderson Sisters (and Binx!) will be at the IMAG training new witches and warlocks their very best potions, spells, charms and curses through hands-on activities, mini workshops, and shows. Come in your favorite costume (especially if it is Hocus Pocus inspired) and Trick or Treat throughout the museum. History Saturdays

Join us on the third Saturday of every month from 10AM – 1PM for a fascinating look into Southwest Florida’s history! Visit the front desk to find out more!

History Saturdays are free with museum admission, and are brought to you by a generous grant from the Community Foundation of Cape Coral.

September 17, 2022: Hurricanes in Southwest Florida. Learn about the major hurricanes that have impacted our area and the destruction and devastation left behind, as well as important tips to stay safe during hurricane season.

October 15, 2022: Eerie Florida. Learn about the spooky side of Southwest Florida through retellings of eerie legends and mysterious creatures. Guests will make Halloween-themed crafts and take home Halloween-themed candy.

November 19, 2022: The River. Coinciding with the visit of our King Tut traveling exhibit, we will study the importance of the Nile River to the Ancient Egyptians and the Caloosahatchee River to Southwest Florida as a means of both transportation and food supply. One of our educators will be stationed at the Water Table exhibit to explain canal building, how rivers work, and how both civilizations filtered their water through a water filtration demonstration. Guests will build boats out of recycled materials to better understand water transportation.

December 17, 2022: Ancient Egyptians and the Calusa Indians as Great Engineers. Coinciding with the visit of our King Tut traveling exhibit, we will explore the similarities of both cultures and look at their great feats of engineering: the Egyptians’ pyramids and the Calusa’s shell mounds. Guests will get to attempt to build a house with different materials like shells, straw, clay and other natural resources in order to determine which houses are more structurally sound.
