CAMP IMAG
NEW! IMAG is now offering a special Overnighter program for all ages. Bring your group of 15-40 people for the ultimate museum experience! See behind the scenes, tour the museum, learn a new subject and sleep with the fossils! Prices include a late-night pizza snack and breakfast the next morning.
Cost
$50 per person. This includes the pizza snack and breakfast in the morning!
All Scout troops get 2 free adult chaperones per group in compliance with Scout regulations.
All other groups get 1 free adult chaperone.
Workshops & Badges
Cub Scouts, Webelos, Arrows of Light, and Boy Scouts will complete one merit badge per overnight program; see what is available here. Extra workshops are available.
Girl Scouts will complete one badge workshop per overnight program. See what is available here. Extra workshops are available.
Hours
Scout Troops: Arrive at 5:30 PM. Workshops will run from 6:00-8:00 PM with a pizza break.
Non-Scout Groups: Arrive from 6:30-7:00 PM; first workshop will start at 7:00 PM, with pizza snack at 8 PM. The second workshop can be held the same night, or in the morning after breakfast.

Non-Scout Groups: please select 2 one-hour general workshops from the list below and let us know the ages of the children in your group. We will customize the workshops for your age group! You may also pick the same workshop twice for a deeper dive into the subject!
General Workshops
Space Science: Learn to read a star chart to find your way in the night sky; what Eclipses are & how to safely observe them; what causes sunspots & sun flares; why stars are different colors, play a Moon Phase Game; make a Solar System picture; and Build a Moon Base! We will also go outside to observe the night sky in the dark; bring binoculars if you can!
The Science of Sound: Learn how human & animal ears work & what sound is; make music with glasses of water; see visible sound using cymatics; do tuning fork experiments; make a musical instrument; and learn the speed of sound and what decibel danger is!
Chemistry Lab: Become a Junior Scientist as you learn the 4 states of matter; watch a Disappearing Rainbow pH Demo; manipulate heat as you do endothermic & exothermic experiments; learn elements from the periodic table; build a molecule; and make a polymer bouncy ball!
Marine Animal Biology: Perform a squid dissection; play a game to learn about coral health; learn why our oceans are important & how to keep them Healthy, as well as what animals live in the ocean & which ones are endangered. See how we take care of our marine animals here at IMAG, plus make a shark craft and visit our touch tank to encounter sea creatures! (Note: our Touch Tank will be remodeled in Fall 2023 and not available for several weeks. We will be in touch if your requested date falls during this time).
The Science of Newton: Learn about Isaac Newton & his discoveries! Conduct a White Light/Rainbow experiment; experience the laws of motion; learn about friction with mini cars and about Wavelengths with a Slinky demo; perform gravity experiments; and make a pendulum painting.
Geology & Fossils: Do a plate tectonics puzzle; learn about earthquakes; Make a volcano erupt; discover rock types and how to classify them; test minerals; discover what minerals you use daily; do a fossil dig; and explore the IMAG fossil collection!
Reptiles & Amphibians: Learn about the reptiles & amphibians that live in Florida and which ones are invasive! Get up close and personal with some of our creatures at IMAG with an animal show & see how we take care of them; learn the similarities and differences between reptiles & amphibians; draw your favorite animal from our Animal Lab; and make a frog or snake craft!
Turtles & Tortoises: Learn the difference between turtles & tortoises! Visit and learn about these awesome creatures that live at IMAG. See how we feed and take care of them, then make an egg carton baby turtle to take home!
Art: Learn the history of modern art; elements and techniques of design; virtually visit art museums around the world; and make art pieces using different media!
